at the sea

Thu Aug 6, 2009, 6:37 PM
Some of the adventure was photographed.
Why does it seem, that the most interesting part of it was not.
That strong wind that hit us while we were eating red meat cooked on the campfire in the black night to the sound of the waves pounding the shore… and the children up to mischief all around. The sand, the whispers… the relief from the hot oppressive heat of the day…

It got dark late.
We left the party behind us very late

off to the sea

Sat Aug 1, 2009, 10:01 PM
Unbelievable, that a year has passed by since last I wrote in my journal here… whagt happened was that on a number of occasions, I made it round to the DA page, and then when I wanted to check out my friends' deviations, or wanted to add something of my own, I ran into some strange behavior here on DA, and just gave up… Today it seemed to work. So I posted a shot of two of my favorite ladies… woman and cat. And now a few words in my journal.

And if I'm not very active on this page, I still visit the pages of my friends, and enjoy seeing new work.

It's summer, and I'm truly enjoying the heat. This afternoon we're taking a rather lengthy trip to the sea side, to enjoy the waters, and the wonderful view of the ocean. In Jerusalem, my beloved home town, there's no ocean… and we miss it. But it is adventures like this that give me the impetus to leave this town from time to time, usually with a camera in hand… and who knows… it might turn into a perfect day.

If so, maybe I'll make it back, and tell you about it in a word or two…
Or in an image, or impression
but till then, let me share my enthusiasm for a new day
and a new line, and a new adventure
before I throw my trusty pack in the old sedan and go down the mountain
to the sea

at the edge of town

Thu May 1, 2008, 8:54 PM
i live in a run down house at the edge of town
with my pet wolf and my hip cat
as far from the center as a man could be
smoking wild weeds
and drinking my water from a hole in the ground

now and then, you know, i come to da
to have a good time and to share what i've done
and what you've done… take a look and see…
but half the time they're maintaining themselves
and i lose interest and wonder off.

you might notice that i don't post much
it wouldn't bother me that i'm not popular,
if it were a little easier to maneuver round here
but it isn't you know, and i don't have the patience
that some folks
standing in line to say awesome
seem to have

here and there i've seen some sights,
and heard some true words blown through a pipe,
but it don't seem to make much of a difference
nor an impression on the kids that run this place…
i guess we ought to thank them
that they're not beating us up

of course,
if they were,
this would be beat poetry…
and those pictures of mine would be beat pics
in a beat space, cyber beatitude to you….

  • Listening to: my cat humming
  • Reading: the lines on my palms
  • Watching: out for the maintenance men
  • Playing: at communication
  • Eating: my heart out
  • Drinking: drinking hard whiskey

reposted

there was a time when something about DA submission procedure bothered me, and I took a lot of works off the site... in fact, since then, I've been pretty lazy about posting, as anyone can see... but this night, I had trouble sleeping... probably because I went to sleep too early, and so I got up and reposted a number of old shots. Hope it doesn't bother anyone who's watching me... and on the other hand, those who don't know me that well, may get a better reference as to what interests me.

jazz at the theater

Mon May 28, 2007, 1:13 AM
through the night past the long hard day…
after having almost forgotten the pleasures…
the best of Jerusalem festivity tapped me
on the shoulder,
and to the sound of some jazz that
reminded us of the really fine stuff
left with the suffering, behind
had a few beers
and got into the mood like I haven't
for a long time now…
and here are a few souvenirs
of a night that broke some bad habits
and revived some lethargic spirits.
